About Marcus Hustedde
Hello and welcome to my perspective through a camera lens! My name is Marcus Hustedde and I was born and raised in Belleville, IL near St. Louis, MO. As a kid I was always curious about weather and how the atmosphere worked. This curiosity eventually led me to pursue a bachelors degree in Meteorology from Saint Louis University. I would then continue my studies pursuing a masters degree in Atmospheric Science from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. During my time in Huntsville I interned with NASA SPoRT investigating "bolts from the blue", or cloud to ground lightning that occurs away from rain near a thunderstorm. I currently work for DTN Weather where I am a meteorologist with the Sports and Recreation/Aviation teams. Within the Sports and Recreation team I travel with the LPGA and the PGA Champions Tours to tournaments as their on site meteorologist. When I am not traveling for golf tournaments I help support our Aviation team generating customer specific forecasts for airports and flight routes all over the world. I have been chasing thunderstorms as a hobby since 2011 trying to capture some of the most dramatic skies the atmosphere has to offer. While I do chase solo or with a small group I am also a tour guide for one of the most well known and respected storm chasing tour companies on the planet, Silver Lining Tours. During my time guiding with Silver Lining Tours I enjoy getting to know and sharing my passion for severe weather with people from all over the world. On this page you will find some of my best encounters with a camera. Any print purchased is much appreciated, but above all I hope you enjoy viewing my photography! Thanks for looking!
